Minggu ini adalah minggu liburan. Bagi sebagian orang, ini adalah waktu yang tepat untuk melepas lelah, liburan bersama keluarga dan kesempatan untuk “tour” ke daerah lain. Meskipun adam air sudah dilarang melayang di atas udara, namun banyak orang yang siap untuk berlibur, sekalipun pesawatnya di “banned”!

Seorang teman saya, yang juga orang Nias dan kuliah di Djogja mengatakan bahwa sebenarnya beberapa prosesi upacara adat di Nias bisa dijadikan awal bagi kita untuk tidak menomorduakan perempuan.

Nah, beberapa prosesi adat tersebut adalah:

1.  Ketika pesta pernikahan telah selesai, maka perempuan biasanya diangkat (diusung) oleh beberapa pria ke rumah penganten pria. Nah, ritual ini sebenarnya bisa diartikan sebagai penghargaan terhadap perempuan.
2. Setelah saya pikir-pikir, saya 90% setuju dengan apa yang ia katakan.Dasar saya mengatakan setuju adalah mitos masyarakat Nias mengenai penciptaan kosmos, dimana perempuan punya peranan penting, khususnya dalam proses melahirkan. Tentunya, teman-teman banyak yang lebih tahu bagaimana sebenarnya adat ini. Namun, saya, sekalipun lakilaki, akan tetap memperjuangkan kesetaraan terhadap perempuan di Nias!
